Some guns don’t allow for a normal scope.
Top eject guns can have stovepipes and ejection malfunctions induced by not having a clear ejection path. This is common in a lot of lever guns but is also found in some mini-14 models and the SKS.
Guns that use stripper clips can’t be scoped traditionally either. The scope will always block the clip’s insertion path.
Some rifles, called scout rifles, use a long eye relief scope to keep situational awareness. Using an after market mount, Specter Arms has converted a lot of hard hitting Mosin Nagants into inexpensive scout rifles. |
