Militaries around the world need something simple and rugged. The Susat, the C79, the ACOG are all examples of military fielded low magnification prism scopes. The low magnification allows for flexibility in any situation. Almost all prism scopes have graduations or settings for 223 drop compensation.
Those employing prism sights are set up as generalists who can handle any situation reasonably well with more ruggedness, durability and simplicity then what a low power variable optic offers. They are not at the mercy of batteries as the reticles on prism scopes are always etched on the glass. |
