Let’s face it, anyone can slap a Tapco magazine on a SKS. By itself, the Tapco SKS magazine does not really change the way the rifle operates.  The bolt still needs to be locked back to remove the magazine essentially defeating the purpose of having a detachable box magazine.

The SKS Combat Ready Upgrade Package modifies the bolt so it is closer in configuration to the SKS-D bolt.  This allows any aftermarket brand of SKS magazine to be used just like a conventional rifle…. No need to jack out all the old rounds before changing the magazine, just replace the magazine!
